BAOM was born in my (Melian) kitchen in 2018 and expanded into my parent's garage in 2020 when lock down forced me to focus on the invention.

A couple of highly impactful scientists, a move to Cape Town, a co-founder, an officially registered company, a grant from UVU Bio and a few high-impact accelerator programs,

suddenly BAOM was a hot topic.

BAOM is raising funds for our initial outlay to expand our production capabilities, a macro lab facility to ensure continued, smooth and efficient R&D and team onboarding.

We are strategically positioning the company in a supportive and enabling community of mentors, investors and partners.

First, we're into the restoration, carbon sinking and other soil/plant oriented industries. But, BAOM's business potential and film applications are widespread so we will expand into multiple avenues, after successful market adoption.

The brains behind the product development that gave birth to the business.

Raised on nature reserves by conservationist parents, Melian witnessed first-hand how litter crept into the most pristine spaces of our country. A self-taught scientist with a criminal psychology and drama background, she believes we are only as limited to creating change as we tell ourselves. She used lockdown as her time to focus on her passion for resolving plastic pollution and progressed BAOM forward.
